The short version
We run this website on as little of your information as possible. No cookies. No tracking scripts. No profiles. If you join the waitlist we hold one thing: your email address. We never sell, rent, trade, or share it. This page is the legal disclosure; the covenant is the promise behind it.
Who we are
bibleanvil.com is operated by Bible Anvil Scripture Engineering, South Africa — the “responsible party” under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Its founder acts as Information Officer. Contact: admin@bibleanvil.com.
What we collect, and why
The waitlist. If you choose to join, we store your email address and the timestamps of joining and confirming. Purpose: to send one confirmation email, and then exactly one more — when Bible Anvil is ready. Nothing else. Joining is entirely voluntary and uses double opt-in: no confirmation, no list.
Correspondence. If you email us, or use a contact form on this site, we receive what you send and use it only to read and answer you. Giving your name or email there is optional.
Aggregate statistics. Our host, Cloudflare, gives us anonymous server-side counts: how many visits, from which countries, to which pages, referred from where. This sets no cookie, loads no script, and is never tied to you. Google shows us aggregate search statistics (which searches led here) through Search Console; that data comes from Google’s side, not from anything on your device.
What we don’t do
No cookies. No analytics or tracking scripts. No advertising or social-media pixels. No fingerprinting. No behavioural profiles. We never buy information about you from anyone else, and we never sell, rent, or share yours — with anyone, ever. Email tracking is off: we cannot see whether you opened our email or what you clicked. If you use the site’s display controls (dark mode, larger text), the preference is saved in your own browser only and never sent to us.
Where your information lives
The waitlist is stored in a Cloudflare database in Western Europe. Our two service providers (“operators” under POPIA) are Cloudflare (hosting and storage) and Resend (which sends the two waitlist emails, tracking switched off). Both act only on our instructions, under their own data-protection commitments. Because they operate outside South Africa, your information is transferred abroad as POPIA section 72 permits — to providers bound to protect it, with your consent given when you join.
How long we keep it
Unconfirmed waitlist entries are deleted in a monthly purge. Confirmed addresses are kept until we send the one launch notice, or until you ask to be removed — whichever comes first. Correspondence is kept only as long as needed to deal with it.
Your rights
Under POPIA (and, for readers in the EU or UK, the GDPR) you may ask us, free of charge, to: confirm what we hold about you; correct it; delete it; object to its processing; or withdraw consent — leaving the waitlist at any time. Email admin@bibleanvil.com; we answer within 30 days. You may also complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator: inforegulator.org.za · POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information. A parent or guardian may ask us to delete a child’s email address at any time.
Security and breaches
We protect what little we hold: connections are encrypted and access is restricted — and the strongest protection is built in, because we simply don’t collect much. If a breach ever affects your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA section 22 requires.
Changes
Any change to this policy appears here with a new date and version. We will never weaken your protections quietly.
