A named floor, audited
Most accessibility promises are adjectives. Ours is a standard with a number on it: we are building Bible Anvil to EN 301 549 and WCAG AA — the same floor the European Accessibility Act enforces for e-readers — audited every release. Testable rather than aspirational: you should never have to take an app’s word for whether you can use it.
Nothing hidden behind a gesture
Every swipe, pinch, and long-press has a single-tap alternative — large targets, and a back button you can see, not an edge you have to know about. Reading Lock ignores accidental touches and holds the orientation still, so a resting or trembling hand cannot jump the page. One-Switch Simple Mode is one plainly-marked switch that makes the whole app simple at once — large text, high contrast, an uncluttered screen — set once, even from the very first launch, and it stays set through every update. And the type scales across the whole app, not just the verses, up to a true Large-Print Mode — with dyslexia-friendly font options for readers who see letters differently. Confidence with technology is not the price of admission to Scripture.
The page that speaks
Screen-reader support runs through every screen, with Braille output and an audio-first, eyes-free way through the whole app. And your own study speaks too — Markup Speaks reads not just the verse but what you have made of it: “verse 16, highlighted, two notes, tagged.” Your years in the Word, at full volume.
The sermon, caught
Live Sermon Captions put the preacher’s words on screen as they are spoken. Auracast Sermon Audio broadcasts the service sound straight to Auracast-ready hearing aids and earbuds — one-way by design: it transmits, and never listens.

Accessibility of this website
Everything above is what we are building. This last section is about what you are using right now: bibleanvil.com itself.
This website is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA — the widely used standard for making websites work with screen readers, keyboards, magnification, and other assistive technology.
In practice, on every page: the whole site works by keyboard alone, with a visible focus ring and a skip-to-content link. Text contrast meets or exceeds the AA thresholds in both light and dark modes. The “Larger text” switch in the navigation scales everything — text, buttons, touch targets — and the site never blocks the zoom or text size your own browser applies on top. Motion is limited to gentle fades, and stops entirely when your device asks for reduced motion. There are no time limits, no sound, and nothing loaded from third parties.
We assess this ourselves — no external audit has been commissioned yet — and every change to the site passes an accessibility check before it goes live. We are not aware of anything on this site that falls short of the standard.
